which Cure album should I buy?
I'm in love with Robert Smith (in all his bright red lipstick and big haired glory!), but the only Cure album I have is their la-*test*-('"), The Cure. Which is your favorite?

I really love Disintegration. it's my first Cure album, and I got to know it at a rather emotional time of my life. I couldn't even listen to it for a while, that emotional. I recommend getting a grea-*test*-('") hits album, those are always good for getting to know a band.

Yeah, I always hear how great Disintegration is, but I can never find it anywhere! I'll just have to look a little harder! And actually I don't really want to get the grea-*test*-('") hits album for the cure...i don't know why, but usually I don't like grea-*test*-('") hits albums as much as the other "official" ones. Probably because some of my least favorite songs in most cases are the big hits. But I'm sure I'll end up getting all the cure albums I can, seeing as I'm obsessive and insist on having the biggest collection my budget allows...which isn't much :lol:

i'm not a cure expert and dont know all of the albums.. actually, i know only a few well... and... it seems that people are scared or "Wild Mood Swings"...... i love the album and i'd suggest it if you're up to wild mood swings... :) i also love Bloodflowers very much, but i dont think it's an everyday album because robert and cure... they suck you in... so if you're a subject to philosophical mood swings ..... dont take it when you're happy. my advice is: go out to the shop and decide which are you gonna buy by the cover..... :)) they're all cure, arent they.. :)

Hey smashing_pumpkin which ones did you get in the end? If you're still looking Wish is a great album :D

I dunno if anyone still cares, but I think Wish is one of, if not, the best album produced by the Cure. I enjoy a good evening of downtime with Wish. Highly recommended to any fan of great music, check it out!

If you still haven't gotten anything yet, I suggest you pick up both singles collections. Staring at the Sea which gives you a look at their material from 1978-1985 and Galore which covers the singles from 1987-1997. Those are good starting points to get a good overview of them. Also pick up Wish and Head on the Door, those are two good albums with some variety in them. I've been a huge Cure fan for awhile now and its always good to get someone into a great band. :D

Disintegration is definitely my favorite!
