Shot Full of Diamonds TSP Tribute
Hey, Has anyone heard of this? http://www.spfc.org/songs-releases/discog.html?discog_id=189 I never even knew about it until today when I was browsing SPFC.

Yes, for several months they had a Myspace up, with thousands of 'myspace friends'. It's an emocore tribute that was supposed to be sold at the Warp Tour. There was rumors about some copies surfacing there, but for the most part, no one has ever seen one. There was supposed to be some alleged big mystery band on the compilation. Which some people were convinced were Muse or Radiohead, just because a cover of Mellon Collie was posted without the band name given. Several bands seemed to be crying foul, saying they wanted money back or something like that. I have been unable to confirm whether bands actually were asked for money or not. Eventually, Shot Full of Diamonds myspace stopped being updated, and their record label's website mysteriously disappeared. One of the tracks, \\"Disarm\\" by National Product, included incorrect lyrics. I don't mean changing lyrics like \\"I used to be a little boy\\" to \\"I used to be a little girl', which was even common for SP to do. But instead of \\"The years burn\\", they sung \\"he is burned\\". They defended themselves, claiming that they didn't screw up the lyrics, but were intentionally singing like that because they did not want to make it seem like they were ever in the same place as Billy (ie the child abuse he experienced). I personally find the justification given by National Product as pretty ridiculous, because those lyrics resonate with fans, even if they never experience rampant physical abuse. Every has ups and downs, especially as a moody teenager, and you take comfort in knowing someone had hard times just like you, whether or not your bad times pale in comparison. From what I heard on their myspace last year, the tracks weren't very impressive. Incidentally, I noticed a certain grass roots SP tribute album from 2001 wasn't listed on there. If I brought it to SPFC's attention, I would probably be ignored, but a few SP fans that cared sent in an email saying it would be cool for them to mention it on there, that would be great ;).

^Ah.. that's interesting. Didn't know there was so much behind it.

I am sometimes paranoid and think that people will think that we will do the same thing, after having to delay the release of Ghost Children 2, despite the fact that we have had the Act IV site up for 5 years and have no plans of taking it down.

I sent them in some information on a Triple J compilation. They won't ignore you but they'll take a long time to get back to you. It was up there for a while until their server crashed some time ago.
