http://www.mikedolbear.co.uk/story.asp?StoryID=947 Chamberlin Smashes into the UK Jimmy Chamberlin Ex-Smashing Pumpkin’s drummer Jimmy Chamberlin’s first ever UK clinic tour sponsored by Yamaha Drums and Zildjian This summer sees the legend Jimmy Chamberlin appearing at drum clinics and events up and down the country sponsored by Yamaha Drums and Zildjian and in conjunction with Rhythm magazine. This is the first time that Jimmy has come across to the UK as an individual artist, making this visit a truly unique and exciting time. In January 2005 Jimmy launched his first ever solo project; The Jimmy Chamberlin Complex; which he has toured across America for the last 4 months promoting the debut album Life Begins Again. During the tour Jimmy will be showcasing his new signature snare drum which will be another debut for the UK! Used alongside his Birch Custom Absolute Nouveau series which compliments Jimmy’s solo Complex project; a fusion of jazz and rock explosiveness. Jimmy who was part of one of the biggest alternative rock groups of the 90’s; The Smashing Pumpkins, and followed this with the short-lived rock outfit Zwan. He is widely regarded as one of the most exciting drummers in the world. The events are being organised by Yamaha-Kemble Music (UK) Ltd. Gavin Thomas, Product Manager for Yamaha Drums and Zildjian stated “We are delighted to announce that we are able to bring Jimmy Chamberlin to the UK for these special performances and workshops. Jimmy has produced some outstanding work throughout his career and can be described as having one of the most distinctive voices on the drums. These events will give the UK drumming community the opportunity to watch Jimmy up-close and personal and we are all very exited”. The tour will kick off with Jimmy’s appearance at Drumfest 1 and will be followed by a week of clinic visits in conjunction with major Drum Dealers across the UK.
