I Wish Billy Would Make a Sequel To... ... which album?
The reports of a mix of SD and MCIS is promising, I would really love to hear a sequel to Machina II. Machina is filled with gems. I adore the record. I don't think Machina II is as good as Machina I, so I would love to hear Billy continue down the Machina road with the tuned down rock songs like TEG, TIV and HMM. HMM alternate on Machina II was dreadful.
Although the Pumpkins haven't ever done two records that sound exactly the same, it'd be interesting to hear a sequel IMO.

Yeah, a follow up concept album would be great. He could tie it in with GATMOG.

Personally, I love Machina, but I wouldn't want them to continue with that sound, it was great and all, and would be great to do some songs like that now, but I really love the clearer sounds of SD and MCIS, especially Gish, but I strongly prefer the songs on SD and MCIS, Machina and Adore are great albums, but they only seem to suit me really well whan I'm in an extreme mood.

despite the fact its B sides its still my fave album and it does still flow
its actually mroe of a toned down, bluesier, stoner rock style of music which is cool
and the album has some of the best songs they ever wrote (it also went higher on billboard than SD, true fact!)

why not a next solo-album? it's really unlikely that that will ever happen now that the pumpkins are back, but I'm just curious what a next solo-effort by billy might sound like.

I wonder if the JCC will keep doing anything?

that's right, I never really thought about that... The heart and soul of JC and BC is ofcourse in The Smashing Pumpkins, so I don't think they will undertake more solo-efforts in the near future, as long as the pumpkins stay together

Yeah, I don't think the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex will be making another album anytime soon. Same with a Billy solo album. I seem to remember Billy once claiming that he would make another solo record before SP returns, and of course that is not happening.
I am not really looking for a sequel to any album. I would like to see them progress forward past Machina though, I don't want it to be a regression to SD and MCIS. Perhaps it can be a fuller sound that incorporates all the elements of their previous sound, more of slightly cleaner sound alt. rock record with the continuation of synth and electronic elements being involved.
To be fair, I think "Heavy Metal Machine" (alt, mix), was alternate mix of the HMM machine demo that was on the Friends and Enemies cassette tape. I was always under the impression that it was an early verison of HMM. Both versions of that demo are quite horrid though.

Yeah, I don't think they would be going for a re-hash. I'm not looking for one.

I agree, that demo was virtually unlistenable.

Agreed. Even the album version for me is odd but still listenable. Live, on the other hand, is the most amazing song ever.
