Best Album Opener?
Listening to Pisces Iscariot this morning, all the way thru, I relaized (once again) how beautiful a song Soothe really is, it has an honesty and purity about it that the others have, but just can't quite touch. This morning PI inspired me to write 5 new poems, just straight from no-where one after the other, I read the booklet whilst listening aswell, such a fucking awesome booklet. I know PI and Judas 0 arn't albums, but they are still a collection of new songs that is commercially available and popular, so for me it counts. So yeah, which song do you think was the best album opener?

MCIS easily i remmebr listening to it for the first time and just listening to the piano, it was amazing, so calming and then the way it seamlesly flows into tonight, tonight tonight, just teh way it captures you, i didnt look back and listend to the album all the yway through and it changed my life just wow yer the end

TEG - best opening riff ever

As much as I love TEG, I'm gonna have to say MCIS. It's like the cherry on a cake, just compiles everything into something so simple, yet beautiful. Gives it that extra touch of... something?

I voted for Soothe cos of it's raw beauty, MCIS or To Shiela would be beauty refined, but at the time I wanted it raw baby yeah!

Cherub Rock just kills. It's one of my favorites, and so perfectly captures the essence of that album and of the mood of the Pumpkins in that era. It sets the tone for everything to come and is one of the quintissential Pumpkins songs. Plus, the way it starts is just awesome. Thanks to that song, Siamese Dream has become my automatic \"cheer me up\" album, which might seem a bit odd. But to me, anger and bitterness = happy, in music.

As I mentioned in another forum, it's hard to say. maybe \\\"I Am One\\\" but just as easily could be \\\"MCIS\\\". \\\"Cherub Rock\\\", or \\\"The Everlasting Gaze\\\", or \\"To Sheila\\". This time around I voted for \"MCIS\" its just so damn iconic and the anticipation I feel, for the rest of the album, and especially \"Tonight, Tonight\" with it.

Cherub Rock, I love how it just picks up speed and leads you out into another world.

I like the way MCIS starts on the first disc, It's not my favorite album but it's a great way to start an album, niceness

MCIS for sure, although (to me) soothe is very beautiful.. they all fucking rock (some more quietly than others..) MCIS lead me into the pumpkins.. so many different soundscapes...and the piano...

I Am One. song that got me into the Pumpkins and to me, builds anticipation better than the rest (Cherub Rock is very close second though)..
